Joey D. Dumas

After graduating high school Joey went active duty in the US Air Force and was stationed at McGuire AFB NJ. After receiving an honorable discharge he became a law enforcement officer in Mississippi and Alabama for nearly 10 years. While in law enforcement Joey worked in a variety of divisions such as Investigations, Firearms Instruction, Coast-Regional Gang and Drug Prosecution Unit, US Customs Blue Lightening Strike Force and Warrant Entry Team. Joey received the following law enforcement training: Southwest Alabama Police Academy, City of Jackson MS Police Academy, Air and Land Surveillance, Narcotics K-9 Handling, DEA Narcotics Investigation, US Customs Blue Lightening Cross Training, High Risk Entry, Drug Team Commander Training, Narcotics Commander’s Workshop, FBI Regional Firearms Instructor School. Joey was awarded Class president, Best Patrol Procedures and Firearms Top Gun at the SW AL Police Academy and Top Gun at the FBI Regional Firearms Instructor School.
In 1998 Joey entered the private sector and began investigating nursing homes for plaintiff attorneys such as Jerry Taylor. In such capacity Joey worked on cases totaling over $100 Million and lectured across the country on nursing home investigations. Joey also investigated one of the first Vioxx cases to go to trial.
In 2007 Joey was accepted into Mississippi College School of Law. While there Joey served as two-term President of the American Association for Justice Student Chapter, Board of Governors for the Mississippi Association for Justice Student Chapter, made the Dean’s List and was awarded Best Opening Statement and a class rank of 2nd in Trial Practice.
Upon finishing law school, Joey joined Jerry Taylor at the Taylor Law Firm, LLC. Joey focuses on pharmaceutical and medical device litigation and works closely with referral lawyers across the country. Joey devoted his entire first year with TLF working on a pharmaceutical case that eventually settled for over $100,000,000.

Joey is married to the former Kelli E McArn, of Columbia, Mississippi, and has a daughter, Krystal Leigh Dumas. Joey is a member of Grace Community Church in Mobile, AL and volunteers as a board member on the City of Prichard Economic Development Advisory Board.
